Executive Board Nominations Committee Michelle St. Clair
michelle@scahome.org
The By-Laws (Article VIII) specify that this committee should consist of at least three members, one of whom serves as chair. It is important that diverse members of the SCA participate in providing nominations to generate adequate numbers of possible nominees and to spread the nominees throughout the social networks of the membership. The By-Laws specify that the Nomination Committee should be formed at least six months before the Annual Meeting date (e.g., no later than August). The President frequently serves as an ex officio member of the Nomination Committee by suggesting nominees and encouraging other members to provide nominations. It is advisable for the President to stay in continual contact with the Nomination Committee chair to ensure that the slate of candidates for the ballot is in place when needed. Position statements of candidates are provided in the winter Newsletter. This allows ballots to be returned and new Board Members to be identified no later than one month before the Annual Meeting, as specified in the By-Laws.
