GIS Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION
Far Western has an immediate opening for a GIS Analyst. Job responsibilities include working with
project managers to provide GIS needs for archaeological projects from pre-field research, to report
production of print- and web-worthy cartographic products using ESRI ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro. This job
requires a detail-oriented person with the ability to work with a variety of enthusiastic scientists in a fast-
paced environment. This position is available in our Davis office, though occasional day trips to our
Sausalito office may be required.
 
Preferred candidates will have a GIS Certificate or comparable degree, and strong database skills as well
as knowledge and experience with high-accuracy GPS, Microsoft Excel, Access, as well as general
principles of archaeology. A basic understanding of task automation via Model Builder or via various other
programming languages is expected.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

 GIS Certificate or comparable degree
 Experience with ESRI ArcMap and ArcGIS
Pro
 Strong database skills and experience with
software such as Microsoft Access and
Excel
 A basic understanding of task automation via
Model Builder or various other programming
languages such as Python.
 Knowledge and experience with high-
accuracy GPS data collection

 Pay Range:  $25-$35/hour
