The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians is a sovereign nation that provides governmental services to its members and works with federal and state agencies and local governments. Under general supervision, the Archaeologist will be responsible for responding to requests for consultation and reviewing projects for compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act and the California Environmental Quality Acts as well as other local, state, federal, and tribal Historic Preservation laws and ordinances. This position will also perform fieldwork such as surveys, excavation, monitoring, analysis and interpretation as needed.
This position requires a Master’s degree Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field and a minimum of five (5) years of practical experience in cultural resource management, including field archaeology and archaeological laboratory work.
