It is time to nominate candidates for receipt of the Society’s 2020 Awards. It is time to nominate candidates for receipt of the Society’s 2020 Awards. There are seven awards, each unique and special for either what they represent and/or who they are named for: the Martin A. Baumhoff for special achievement in analysis or publication; the Mark Raymond Harrington Award for conservation archaeology; the SCA award for excellence in cultural resources management; the Helen C. Smith Award for achievements by avocational societies; the California Indian Heritage Preservation Award that recognizes Native Californians’ contributions; the new Golden Shovel Award for excellence in the field or lab; and the lifetime achievement award recently named for one of our society’s founders, David A. Fredrickson.
